Our Story
From two city studios
to one complete furniture system
MAAN was founded on a belief in 'slow furniture' — in an age of fast consumption, we chose to spend longer refining every piece, so furniture becomes a companion for decades rather than a seasonal purchase.
The brand name '漫家居' (MAAN) comes from the image 'a house has ten thousand corners, and light lives in every one' — a home is made of countless corners, edges and details, and we believe only by weighing proportion and material from a thousand angles can every corner be treated with care. We fuse Nordic minimalist craft tradition with the relaxed aesthetic of Australian coastal living, developing a furniture language for the contemporary Asian home.
Today, MAAN continues to collaborate with designers from Denmark, France and Japan, while developing a new generation of sustainable materials together with local Taiwanese workshops — hoping to redefine 'made to last' as a way of living anyone can practise.

At MAAN, design is a series of trade-offs — form against function, character against restraint, the trend of the moment against staying power over years. Here are the three principles behind every decision we make.
Material Before Form
We believe good design begins with the character of the material itself. Every proposal starts with the feel of a piece of timber or a roll of leather — never with a sketch.
Proportion Is the Invisible Ornament
With no elaborate carving or excess line, MAAN adjusts proportion down to the millimetre so every piece sits exactly right in a room — which we consider the highest form of decoration.
Designed for Use, Not for Display
Furniture should be remembered by the body before it's remembered by the eye. Every seat angle and table height is tested against real, lived-in scenarios, over and over.

Our Story So Far
Our founders begin hand experiments in solid-wood furniture across studios in Copenhagen and Melbourne.
MAAN's first studio opens in Taipei, beginning long-term partnerships with European workshops.
The first complete product line launches, alongside a set of sustainable sourcing standards.
A custom collaboration programme with independent designers begins; pieces are placed in over a dozen homes and commercial spaces.
Continued investment in material research, working toward becoming one of Asia's leading contemporary luxury furniture brands.
